Trying to Catch Up!

Oh my! It has been way to long since I last posted on Ty's blog! I cannot begin to catch everyone up from his birthday on March 1st! Well, his sorta b-day since he's a leapster! I will try to re-cap the past 6 weeks or so.

First of all, the weekend of March 1st, we were supposed to be celebrating Ty's first birthday with family and friends. Then Ty got sick and we had to put off the partying. Travis's Dad had a stroke the afternoon of the 1st so we went to Boone Hospital to see him that evening. Travis had now become sick with what Ty had the past week - strep throat. Ty was better and Travis was worse by the time we got home that night from the hospital at 11pm! It was a long and hard day for everyone!

Then on Monday, the 2nd, (I promise not to go through the past 6 weeks day by day) Travis took Ty to the Dr. for his 1 year well-child check-up! Funny, considering he was not a well child for the whole week before. But, the Dr. said to bring him on in even though she had seen him twice the week before. He had strep again! Poor baby! They gave him a strong shot in his bottom to get him over the strep quicker - strong strain they said he had! I guess so! I think it was more painful for Travis than Ty! Probably hurt them both the same! We had to do breathing treatments because his oxygen level had actually fallen from checking it last Thursday when we discovered he had RSV! It was 96 and had fallen to 94% that day so we had to get a nebulizer and do breathing treatments 3 times a day! Let me tell you - not the funnest thing we have done with Ty! A one year old is not very cooperative with a tube blowing out steam in his face! We made it through the week though and then were able to stop the treatments after he was checked again and his oxygen level was 99%! Yeah!

After I was all better and Daddy was all better we went for the weekend to see Papaw Bobby at the hospital. He was getting better! He had passed his swallow test a few days before and so he could eat most foods and he could drink liquids that had been thickened. I sure enjoyed flirting with all the nurses! I loved running down the hallways and into people's rooms! Almost all were thrilled to see me and invited me in! Mommy and Daddy were a little tired from chasing me all around the hospital!

For the past 5-6 weekends since then Mommy, Daddy and I have visited Papaw Bobby at the hospital. He has made so much progress since the stroke! He is up and walking and moves around a lot in his wheelchair. I love visiting him! Last weekend when I visited him I got to go and eat supper with him and I even ate some of his potato and cake! Yummy! I also have a toy crocodile that they got me to play with and I leave it there so I can play with it there. It's fun to press the button on the top and make it zoom across the floor! I really enjoy flirting with the nurses on the rehab wing too, just like when he was on the other floor of the hospital. One nurse even gave me some ice cream to eat! I got a glove blown up as a balloon too!

Almost every weekend when we go to see Papaw Bobby, we also get to go to G-ma's and Aunt Susan's to visit. I love staying there! I don't get spoiled at all! Right! They buy me my favorite foods and snacks! I like eating with them and playing with all the toys they have! I even helped G-ma clean out the garage when I was there one weekend! I worked and worked - sweeping with the big, tall broom! I take really good naps there after all my chores! I even sleep most of the night in my crib when I am there! (As opposed to when I am at home when I sleep the best in Mommy and Daddy's bed!) Mommy is really going to work on that with me this summer when she is at home with no school!

Let's see! Oh, Easter! I went to G-ma's and Aunt Susan's on Sat. before Easter. They got me a patio table that has an umbrella and 2 chairs to match! I love it! It's all bright colors! I love getting up in the chairs and turning around and getting settled and sitting like a big boy! Mommy will post some pics of that as soon as she gets some from G-ma! So cute! I also got a cloth barn that has stuffed little barn animals that make their sounds when you press the buttons on them. I can even press the buttons all by myself. We all went out in the yard and had an Easter egg hunt. I didn't totally understand but I loved eating the cheese sticks and puffs that they had put in the eggs! It was so much fun! Later that night I rode my four-wheeler outside to show everybody! It was great! I would stand up and push the button and take off! I could go really far since I was outside. I have only ever rode it in the house at home - small space!

Then we went to the hospital and the Easter bunny had brought me a basket there too! I got a very cute new jacket! It's kelley green and blue! It fits me perfectly! I also got a nice shirt to match it! I got some marshmallow treats and a puzzle. I got a truck that I love to push around and make the vroom, vroom noise! I also got a snuggly bunny that is roly-poly and so, so soft! It was really fun visiting with everyone and showing off! I like to wave to people that go by the room and run down the halls!

Then we went back to G-ma's and spent the night. We went to the Easter Sunday service at their church. I got to march in the palm parade and wave a palm branch. Well, actually Mommy carried me and waved the palm branch for me because I just wasn't too sure what that was and kept throwing it on the floor. It was a great service and I wanted to run down the side aisle and up to the piano but Mommy wouldn't let me. Then G-ma watched me play in the back for a while and then Daddy took me in the back room to play and have a bottle. I was just a little onery in church on Easter! I had to show off since Daddy was there. He was making me giggle! It was his fault!

Then after church we went to Grandma's in Fulton. It was a lot of fun! We had a wonderful Easter lunch. I liked eating the turkey! Yummy! I played with Aunt Denise and I even rode my four-wheeler around in the house some. It was too cold to go outside but we had fun anyway! Aunt Denise and Grandma hid Easter eggs in the house for me to find. I would find them and then immediately open them up to eat the puffs inside. I also got an Easter basket from the Easter bunny there! It had a really cool big truck inside that I can push around on the floor and make some noise! There was also some candy but I let Mommy and Daddy have it!

We went back home on Sunday night - all of us exhausted but happy! Such good times with family! I only wish Uncle Dustin could have been there! We all miss him so much! Florida is too far away!

Mommy was off school on Monday too so her and I cleaned the house and organized some things. I was a big help. I love to mop the floor! I even mop the carpet sometimes! Mommy and I had a nice nap together in the afternoon, too!

Now, while Mommy is writing this for me - I am at G-ma's and Aunt Susan's snoozing away. I am running a little temperature and maybe it's from teeth, my shots, or something else? We are not really sure but if I'm still having it on Monday, Mommy will call the Dr. to see what's going on. Mommy and Daddy are getting really frustrated about me being sick all the time! They feel so sorry for me! So does Shawna (our wonderful babysitter! God-send! She keeps me even when I am sick and loves me so much!) I played outside with G-ma, well, G-ma played and I worked in the yard, I hoed and even found a worm! That was interesting! Then we went inside and I had a bath and just collapsed on G-ma's lap asleep! I took a 3 hour nap and would have probably slept longer - but G-ma came in to turn the fan on and I heard her. But, it was a great nap! Then I played more and had supper. I fell asleep again on G-ma's lap without even a bottle and went to bed at 8:00! Wow! That's how Mommy is getting caught up with my blogspot a little right now.

Tomorrow Mommy is going to National Scrapbook Day and try to catch up some on my first year book that she's working on. I won't tell you what part she's working on but she's pretty far behind! She will finish it though and it will be a wonderful keepsake for me! I like looking at pictures of me with family and friends!

Well, that wraps up the last 6 weeks or so! I will try to keep Mommy on track a little more so it's not so long in between posts! Sorry! I like to play with her all the time and have all her attention when we are together at home.

Happy 1st Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Ty! Well, it's been a year! Actually, Ty is 365 days old today! He won't be a year old until 2012 but we're still celebrating of course! Travis and I cannot believe it's already been a year! Time really goes by super fast! Ty has changed and grown so much it's just amazing!

He has been battling strep and RSV this past week so we had to put the partying off until next weekend but oh well! We will have just as much fun having his birthday party next weekend!

Rainy Monday

Well, I just recently logged onto my blog and noticed that I haven't posted since Jan. 25th. I think I should be forgiven though because I posted 2 days in a row last time and had a super cute video! Ha!

Ty is really growing fast! Travis and I think that he is currently cutting a tooth because he cried for 20 minutes on Sat. evening. I know that is not very long compared to some babies or toddlers but for Ty that is super long! He never cries so when he does, something is wrong. He was even crying while I held him. He had a low fever so we gave him some Tylenol to try and ease whatever was bothering him since he can't tell us! He was pulling on both of his ears throughout the day so we figured either teeth or ears. After we gave him a couple teething tablets he fell asleep with me in our bed. Ty and I slept from about 6-10pm! We were both starving when we got up! We ate supper and then he went back to bed at 11:30 and slept all night. So, that was good.

Then Sunday morning he had a low fever. He did fine at church. I ended up taking him to the nursery because he just wanted to play and walk around. He did okay there she said but cried off and on. When I got there - he cried as soon as he saw me and then just laid in my lap. He was so sleepy! He usually takes a nap at about 11 so it was almost noon and he was fighting it since I wasn't there. He fell asleep on the way home and then woke up when we got home. He was fussy again in the afternoon so we gave him more teeth tablets and then he and I took a nap from 3:30-6:30. I could really get used to that! A 3 hour nap everyday would be fabulous! He ate supper when he got up and then played. He was fighting going to bed - he would just walk around (or I should say stagger) the living room picking up toys and falling down. He didn't want to be held or anything. He finally laid down in the middle of the floor and went to sleep at about 10:30. It was really cute!

So, I hope it's just his teeth giving him trouble and not an ear infection. If it keeps up for another day or 2 and he doesn't have a tooth emerge, we're going to the Dr. I don't want him to suffer if there's something more that can be done!

Saturday

Well, it's Saturday and I'm trying to catch up on my blogspot that I started on New Years Eve - and this is only my 3rd post! All I can say is, "Sorry Dustin!" and to anyone else that is following my blog! I can't seem to stay up on this but I will really try to get better!

Ty is walking really well now and getting into everything! It's great though! I just love being his Mommy more and more everyday. (He's napping right now, by the way - how I'm catching up a little)

He has a cold right now! It's so sad when babies have colds because you are so limited in what you can do - and they don't understand why they can't breathe and why you can't help them. They look at you so helplessly! He is doing a little better since this cold came on Monday.

He spent last weekend at his G-ma's. (my Mom's) He had a super time with her and Aunt Susan as usual! I am so glad that he seems very excited to see me after he's been away for a couple nights! It just makes anything a little bad in the world instantly go away after spending time with him and seeing his shining, super-cute, 4-tooth smile!

Okay - someone is up from his nap! I'm going to try and upload a video so I hope it works. It's not great - but it shows him walking a little.

Oooops! Sorry!

Hi! It's almost been 2 weeks since I started this blog and I haven't posted anything since! Thanks Dustin for the reminder! I have started back to school after our break for Christmas - and I've had to have my running shoes on - figuratively and literally! Literally because Ty started walking on New Years' Day! He took 17 steps all together so I can officially say he is walking! Wow! I can't believe it! He was into everything when he was crawling but boy oh boy he's into everything now that he's walking! He can reach so much more! It's a lot of fun though. Actually last night he was trying to run. I think he was in a hurry to get to different toys and he would get up and just start going as fast as he could! It was really cute and hilarious! He fell a bunch of times but just got right back up.

I'm hoping to post more at home so I can add some pictures and video that I have on the computer at home. (I'm at school right now.)

Well, I have to go for now - but I promise I will do better about posting more often - Dustin. =)
